Drywall Repair in Worcester, MA
Holes, cracks, nail pops and the brown ceiling rings that ice dams leave every spring. Patched, sanded, primed and painted so you cannot find the repair.
A good repair is one you cannot find
Anyone can fill a hole. The hard part is making the wall look like nothing happened: the patch flush with the wall around it, the texture matched, and the paint the same sheen, so it does not catch the light when the sun comes through the window. That last step is where most patch jobs give themselves away.

What we repair
- Holes. From anchors and doorknobs to larger damage where a section of drywall is cut out and replaced.
- Cracks. Taped and mudded, not just caulked, so they stay closed through a season of the house moving.
- Nail pops. Reset with a screw, then filled and finished so they do not come back.
- Ice dam stains. The brown rings that show up on ceilings and upper walls in spring, sealed so they do not bleed back through the new paint.
Ice dam stains: fix the roof first
Ice dams are a fact of life in Worcester County. Snow melts on the warm part of the roof, refreezes at the cold edge, and the water backs up under the shingles and into the ceiling. If the stain is still damp, or the roof has not been dealt with, painting over it only hides the problem until next winter. Once the leak is fixed and the area is dry, we seal the stain with a stain-blocking primer, repair any soft or sagging drywall, and repaint the whole ceiling plane so there is no visible patch.
How a repair runs
Cut and patch
Damaged material comes out back to solid drywall. Larger holes get a new piece, fastened to framing or backing.
Tape, mud and sand
Joints are taped and built up in thin coats of compound, sanded between coats, and feathered wide so the patch blends into the wall.
Prime and paint
Fresh compound soaks up paint differently from the wall around it, so it is primed first. Then the wall is painted corner to corner, not just the patch, so the color and sheen match.
Plaster walls
Many older homes here have plaster rather than drywall. Plaster cracks and fails differently, and we will tell you at the estimate which you have and how that changes the repair.

Drywall repair questions
Will you match my existing paint?
If you have the original can or color name, we use it. Even then, older paint fades, so we usually repaint the full wall for an even finish.
Can you repair a ceiling stain from a leak?
Yes, once the leak is fixed and the area is dry. Sealing a stain over an active leak only brings it back.
